Emma

Hi, I'm Emma

I currently work as a mat and reformer Pilates instructor.  I deliver classes and 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 sessions in The Studio in Kirriemuir and count myself so lucky to have a job I absolutely love!

I have a BSC(Hons) in Physiotherapy as well as a Masters degree in Physiotherapy (Respiratory).  I worked in the NHS across a wide range of disciplines for 13 years building my knowledge and experience. I used Pilates constantly myself after a bad car accident and know first hand the benefits of incorporating Pilates in your life.  I couldnt be without it - so I made it my job!

I am a fully certified mat and reformer Pilates instructor.  I also have done all my womans health Pilates CPD too including pre and post natal Pilates.

In my free time I love reading, walking the dog, running and I also volunteer as a Health Walk Leader locally and am so passionate about keeping and encouraging people to be active because of the huge health and well-being benefits.

This is where the idea for Move with Em came from.  I know in person classes are not for everyone so trying to share my knowledge and experience in different ways is really important to me.  Having a range of workouts under one membership with Emily and providing support felt like something valuable to try and offer.  I was delighted Emily was as passionate about the idea as I was - so here we are - Move with Em!!

I cant wait to work with you!

Emily

Hi, I'm Emily.

I'll try and be concise with this but those of you who know me will know I love to chat!

Firstly, I'm a wife to Hamish, we got married in 2013 after meeting in Australia in 2011 - that's a story for another day!  We have 3 daughters who are all into their exercise and attend a multitude of clubs between them.

What do I like?  Running, hill walking, cycling, going away with our caravan, Karate, being silly, laughing at rude jokes and of course, toilet humour.

My health and fitness journey?  I've always been into my health and fitness.  The first sports clubs I attended as a 4/5 year old were Karate and golf.  I continued my love for martial arts into my teenage years and after switching to Tae Kwon-Do then back to Karate, I eventually gained my black belt when I was (about!) 20.  I've recently gone back to Karate classes with my 2 eldest daughters who I can see have got the bug very quickly!  I also love running, strength training in the gym and recently have a new-found love for cycling.  In my spare time I love wild swimming and paddleboarding.

Fast forward about 10 years and, after deciding during the mad world that was Covid that I should pursue my life-long dream of becoming a PT, I have now been qualified and coaching clients for 3 years.

I absolutely LOVE helping people and being a PT allows me to go along with my clients on their journey to becoming a fitter, healthier, more confident version of themselves.  Being trusted as the person they choose to help them is an honour and a TASK that I don't undertake lightly.

Fast forward to 2024, Emma approached me with an idea and I couldn't say no.  Combining many disciplines into one place was a no brainer.  There are many people who want access to health and fitness but can't make it to the gym or classes for various reasons.  Emma and I wanted to make exercise and wellbeing accessible and affordable to everyone, and Move with EM was born.
